Joint Hearing Scheduled on Child Protection

Task Force Recommendations

Members of the House Children and Youth Committee and the House Judiciary Committee will conduct a joint hearing next week on the recommendations issued by the Child Protection Task Force.  The hearing will take place at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 22, at the Capitol.  A year ago, the General Assembly established the Task Force on Child Protection to conduct a comprehensive review of the laws and procedures relating to the reporting of child abuse and the protection of the health and safety of children following the Jerry Sandusky child sex abuse case.  The task force issued its recommendations at the end of November, which can be viewed at http://jsg.legis.state.pa.us/publications.cfm?JSPU_PUBLN_ID=285.
