Benninghoff, Doctors and Parents to Highlight Childhood Cancer Awareness Month in Pennsylvania at News Conference

WHAT:            A news conference highlighting September as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month in Pennsylvania – thanks to Benninghoff’s House Resolution 389 – and recognizing the parents and health professionals who fight childhood cancer on a daily basis.

WHO:              Rep. Kerry Benninghoff (R-Centre/Mifflin), whose daughter, Ryleigh, passed away in 2010 after succumbing to brain cancer; Melanie A Comito, M.D., associate professor of pediatrics and program director of pediatric hematology and oncology at Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital; Annette McKeon, president of Aimee’s Army, a nonprofit organization dedicated to education, research and family support for childhood cancer; Lisa McGregor, Ph.D., clinical director of the division of pediatric hematology and oncology at Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital; Jennifer Kratzer, whose son, Colin, was diagnosed with brain cancer; and Karen Wilson from the Jeremy P. Wilson Foundation.
