Benninghoff’s Bill Designating Local Bridge in Honor of Veterans Passes Senate Unanimously
HARRISBURG – Rep. Kerry Benninghoff (R-Centre/Mifflin) today announced that House Bill 863, which would designate a bridge in Centre County as the Bellefonte Veterans Bridge, passed the Senate unanimously on Monday.

The bridge to be designated is located on State Route 3006 in Bellefonte Borough, and runs over Spring Creek.

“Another major step was taken yesterday toward our goal of honoring the great legacy of Centre County residents who have bravely served this country,” Benninghoff said. “The designation of this prominent bridge in our community will be a daily reminder for many to be grateful for the sacrifices of our neighbors who so selflessly served to protect our freedoms.”

House Bill 863 was introduced by Benninghoff at the beginning of the 2015-16 legislative session and was passed unanimously by the House in May. The bill now heads to the governor’s desk to be signed into law.
