Benninghoff, Dush: Penn Township Awarded Infrastructure Improvement Grant
12/26/2023
HARRISBURG – Officials in Centre County’s Penn Township are recipients of a more than $135,000 Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) grant for infrastructure improvements, according to state Rep. Kerry Benninghoff (R-Centre/Mifflin) and Sen. Cris Dush (R-25).

“Congratulations to the township’s board of supervisors for applying for this funding, which is competitive in nature and requires five affirmative votes from the seven board members,” Benninghoff said. “Anyone who’s ever had to write a grant knows it isn’t an easy thing to do, and the only true reward comes from a successful application.”

The grant will be used for construction of a new water tank in the township. The CFA administers Pennsylvania’s economic stimulus packages, which may be used for construction, improvement, expansion, or rehabilitation or repair of a water supply system, sanitary sewer system, and storm water system projects.

“Access to clean water is critical to ensuring public health, public safety, and economic stability,” said Dush. “This funding will cost-effectively meet the safe and reliable water supply needs for even more hard-working families and employers throughout Penn Township.”
