HARRISBURG – Reps. Kerry Benninghoff (R-Centre/Mifflin), Rich Irvin (R-Huntingdon/Centre/Mifflin) and John Hershey (R-Mifflin/Juniata/Franklin) will host a seminar to help residents understand their Second Amendment rights and Pennsylvania’s firearms laws.

The concealed carry seminar will be held starting at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19, at Rec Park, 108 Montgomery Ave., Lewistown.

“This free seminar is a great opportunity to learn about responsibly and safely exercising your right to bear arms,” Benninghoff said.

Attorney Joshua Prince from Bechtelsville will join the legislators to discuss Pennsylvania’s concealed carry laws.

“There are misconceptions about Pennsylvania’s firearms laws, and we want to give people the facts. We are fortunate to have a knowledgeable speaker who will field questions from the audience,” Irvin said.

Hershey described the seminar as a way for residents to get updated on state laws, including the Castle Doctrine. Attendees can also learn how to obtain a permit to carry a concealed weapon.

“Firearms play an important role in self-defense. It is important to understand your rights to defend yourself and your home,” Hershey said.

RSVPs are required for the seminar. To RSVP, visit RepHershey.com/Form/ConcealedCarrySeminar or call Hershey’s office in Mifflintown at 717-436-6001.
