BELLEFONTE – Rep. Kerry Benninghoff (R-Centre/Mifflin) announced he will be hosting a free license plate replacement event on Thursday, Sept. 22, from 4– 7 p.m.

The event will be held at the Reedsville Fire Hall Parking Lot, 7740 State Route 655 S., Reedsville.

If a license plate is hard to read, area residents can use this event to begin the process of applying for a free license plate replacement.
“I am excited to bring this free service to area residents in Reedsville and the surrounding communities this week,” Benninghoff said. “I encourage all of those who may have questions about whether or not they should get their license plate replaced to attend this event, meet my office staff, and discuss legislative issues as they get a determination about license plate eligibility and the replacement process.”

At the event, a Pennsylvania State Police trooper from Troop G in Hollidaysburg will be on hand to determine if the plate is illegible, and if so, they will help drivers fill out the appropriate paperwork. There is no fee for the replacement plate or this service. Once submitted to PennDOT, the new replacement plates should arrive in approximately two weeks.

For questions, please call Benninghoff’s Reedsville office at 717-667-1175.
