HARRISBURG – The booklets have arrived, and state Rep. Kerry Benninghoff (R-Centre/Mifflin) and his staff are ready to help you.
“We’ve received our shipment of PA-1000 booklets which are used to apply for admission into Pennsylvania’s Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program for the 2023 tax year,” Benninghoff said. “Anyone who’s already enrolled in the program should have received one in the mail, and we’re available to help them and newly eligible individuals apply free of charge, both online and using the booklet.”
Benninghoff supported the legislation which changed the program by adjusting the income limits.
“Under the expanded program, income eligibility has been increased to $45,000 annually for both homeowners and renters, and the maximum rebate is now $1,000,” he added. “Applicants must remember to take into account 50% of Social Security benefits when calculating their income.”
Anyone who would like assistance with applying to the program should call Benninghoff’s Bellefonte district office at 1-814-355-1300 or his Reedsville office at 1-717-667-1175. When applying, you must be prepared to show photo ID, proof of all income (including 1099, Social Security and pension statements) and either 2023 real estate bills marked paid or a rent certificate from your landlord.
