Benninghoff Secures Nearly $2 Million in Grants for Local Projects
January 21, 2026
HARRISBURG – State Rep. Kerry Benninghoff (R-Centre/Mifflin) is pleased to announce nearly $2 million in Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) grants which have been approved for five Mifflin and Centre County applicants.
“These are competitive grants, which means it is incumbent on local government officials to emphasize during the application process just how essential these projects are,” said Benninghoff. “I was proud to work with them and play a role in securing funding for these much-needed infrastructure improvements in their communities.”
Here are the recipients of the grants, which are funded through the CFA’s Multimodal Transportation Fund and Small Water and Sewer programs:
Centre County
• Bellefonte Waterfront Associates 2, LLC - $600,000 for improvements to Dunlap Street and installation of a promenade in preparation for the construction of an 80-room boutique hotel.
• Gregg Township Sewer Authority - $86,000 for evaluation of and repairs to its sewer system.
• Penn Township - $204,570 for improvements to Long Lane, which include completion of the portion from Big Oak Lane to Penns Creek Road.
Mifflin County
• Borough of Lewistown - $424,000 for overdue cleaning and maintenance of its wastewater treatment system.
• Union Township - $650,000 for replacement of the existing Spring Run Road bridge that crosses Kishacoquillas Creek.
Questions about this or any legislative issue should be directed to Benninghoff’s Bellefonte district office at 814-355-1300 or his Reedsville office at 717-667-1175.
